Hi, my name is Kayla and I started living at Magdalene Home in August of 2020. Before I came to the Magdalene home, I was homeless and was not in a good life situation. I was able to find Magdalene home through resources and moved in to be reunited with my daughter. I am in school and recently completed a work program through Youth 71Five Ministries called Vo-Tech. At first, it was a different experience for me because I had never lived in community living before. Everything was new to me, but it is easy to adapt to if you are willing to follow the rules.
I never thought that I would go to college before and just finished my third term at RCC, getting my last prerequisites done for a certificate program. I have become an even more loving and nurturing mother to my daughter since being at Magdalene home. They give me a safe and secure place to live and help with resources as well. I have learned a lot of useful life skills through the programs that the Magdalene home provides. Every Wednesday we attend a young parent group, which is really fun to go to and has childcare as well. The coordinator for this group is an amazing and wonderful person! She has been a huge support system in my life, and I really appreciate her.
It was a huge step in my life to come to Magdalene home. This home has been a blessing to me and everyone around me as well. I appreciate everything and everyone that has entered my life through this home. Everyone is super nice and helpful. I believe that God chose this path for me for a reason. This verse was shared with me by someone special.
